Hull City News: Cardiff Boss Dave Jones Top Of Hull City Managerial Shortlist

Cardiff Boss Dave Jones is reported to be top of Hull City's shortlist to take over the mangerial reigns at the KC Stadium from Phil Brown. It was reported that because of Hull's financial problems that only managers who were not attached to clubs would be considered. However, sources are suggesting that owner Russel Bartlett has assured Director of Football Operations; Adam Pearson that there is money available to secure a new manager purely for footballing reasons. Bartlett is prepared to pay Jones's £750,000 a year wages but would not be in a position to pay compensation to Cardiff City. It seems as though Hull are hoping that Jone's relationship with the club's new Malaysian owners will detoriate even further and that he will be replaced, eliminating the compensation barrier. However, Paul Hart still remains the favourite to take over the Hull City post even if Dave Jones is the club's preferred option.
