Hull City have set a deadline of Friday for announcing a new manager to replace Phil Brown at the KC Stadium. Hull have spent the last week finalising their shortlist for the vacant managerial post and hope to name their man by the weekend. Mowbray, Sheffield Utd. coach Gary Speed, Paul Hart and Cardiff boss Dave Jones are all reported to be on that shortlist. However, the interest in Hart is thought to have lessened somewhat. Hull want to have a manager in place in time for pre-season training on the 1st of July

Hull City News: Wolves Seal Stephen Hunt Signing For Undisclosed Fee
Wolves have completed the signing of Hull City and Republic Of Ireland winger Stephen Hunt. The transfer was completed over the weekend after Hunt had completed his medical and he has put pen to paper on a three year deal with a fee rumoured to be around £3.5 million. The transfer brings to a close Wolves' long pursuit of Hunt having failed with three bids during the January transfer window. Hunt is the second Hull City player to join Wolves back in the Premier League following Steven Mouyokolo's move to Molineux on Friday. Hull are believed to have recieved around £5.5 million for the pair as was reported by Hull City AFC Central here last Thursday. Hull City AFC Central would like to thank Stephen Hunt for his time at Hull and wish him all the best at his new club.
Hunt had this to say about his stint at Hull City:
"I'd like to say thanks to Hull for being so understanding with the deal. I had a good year there and I'd like to wish them all the best,"
"I scored a few goals there and had a good tally of six up until February. I was gutted to miss the last two or three months of the season.

Hull City News: Hull Renew Interest In Alan Curbishley
A number of national papers are reporting that Hull City are once again interested in bringing Alan Curbishley to the KC Stadium. Curbishley has now emerged as Hull's No. 1 target and owner Russell Bartlett is confident he can pursuade him to leave London where he has spent his entire managerial career. Curbishley has not taken charge of a team since leaving West Ham Utd. in 2008. The Tigers have also been linked with Paul Hart and Dave Jones but Bartlett is keen on recruiting a manager that will not come with a compensation fee to pay

Hull City News: Wolves On Brink Of £3 Million Stephen Hunt Transfer
Wolves are reported to be putting the finishing touches to a deal that will see Hull City star Stephen Hunt join Steven Mouyokolo at Molineux next season. Mouyokolo arrived at Wolves yesterday and Hunt is expected to follow him in a £5.5 million double swoop just as Hull City AFC Central had reported here on Thursday. Negotiations took much longer than usual as a compromise had to be reached because Wolves were not prepared to pay anything near Hull's valuation. This is due to the fact that Hunt is not expected to be fully fit until October at the earliest after breaking his foot in February. Hull City AFC Central will be the first to let you know if/when the Hunt deal is confirmed 100%

Hull City News: Bournemouth Manager Eddie Howe Emerges As Shock Hull City Target
Bournemouth Manager Eddie Howe has emerged as a shock contender for the vacant managerial post at Hull City according to skysports.com. Howe is regarded as one of the best young managers around following his success in guiding Bournemouth to promotion to League One on a shoe-string budget. These are exactly the qualities that Hull will be looking given their poor financial state.
Bournemouth have already made moves to ward off potential suitors for Howe by tying him down to a new contract earlier this summer.
Hull City News: Wolves Complete Signing Of Steven Mouyokolo For Undisclosed Fee
Wolves have completed their third transfer of the close season with the signing of Hull City defender Steven Mouyokolo for and undisclosed fee. Hull City AFC Central had reported here yesterday that Wolves were close to securing Mouyokolo and Stephen Hunt's signatures in a double deal worth £6 million. However, with Wolves facing plenty of competiton from other clubs for Hunt they have moved quickly to secure the services of Mouyokolo for a rumoured fee of around £2.5 million. Mouyokolo has signed a 4 year deal at Molineux with the option of a 5th year. Mouyokolo spent one season at Hull and his impressive displays in the second half of the season attracted interest from many of the clubs in the lower half of the table. Hull City AFC Central would like to thank Steven Mouyokolo for his time at Hull and wish him all the best at his new club.
Mouyokolo had this to say about the move:
"I'm very excited and very happy," he said. "It was important for me to try and stay in the Premier League because I enjoyed last season, even though it was disappointing that Hull were relegated.
"I'm delighted to be staying in the league and even more so at a club with such history like Wolves.
"As soon as I knew they were interested it was always going to be a move which really appealed to me.
"I've heard a lot of good things about Mick McCarthy and have enjoyed talking to him - I'm looking forward to working with him and improving my game."
Hull City News: Cardiff Boss Dave Jones Top Of Hull City Managerial Shortlist
Cardiff Boss Dave Jones is reported to be top of Hull City's shortlist to take over the mangerial reigns at the KC Stadium from Phil Brown. It was reported that because of Hull's financial problems that only managers who were not attached to clubs would be considered. However, sources are suggesting that owner Russel Bartlett has assured Director of Football Operations; Adam Pearson that there is money available to secure a new manager purely for footballing reasons. Bartlett is prepared to pay Jones's £750,000 a year wages but would not be in a position to pay compensation to Cardiff City. It seems as though Hull are hoping that Jone's relationship with the club's new Malaysian owners will detoriate even further and that he will be replaced, eliminating the compensation barrier. However, Paul Hart still remains the favourite to take over the Hull City post even if Dave Jones is the club's preferred option.
Hull City News: Steve Cotterill Out Of Running For Hull Post With Portsmouth Appointment
Steve Cotterill is now officially out of the running for the the vacant Hull City managerial post after being officially announced as the new manager of cash-strapped Portsmouth. Cotterill had already been interviewed for the job at the KC Stadium but he was reluctant to relocate his family from their Christchurch home in the south. Portsmouth were a much better prospect location-wise for Cotterill and the fact that he wanted to remain in the south seems to have been the decisive factor in his choice of club.

Hull City News: Hull Set To Name Hart As New Manager
Paul Hart looks set to be named manager of Hull City in the next few days according to mirrorfootball.co.uk. Steve Cotterill had also been interviewed for the vacant post at the KC Stadium but he would prefer a move to fellow relegated club Portsmouth as they are situated closer to his Christchurch home. Whoever the new manager will be, they won't be hired until Hull can agree a deal with their creditors.
Hull City News: Crystal Palace Out Of Chase For Hart
The chances of Paul Hart becoming the next manager of Hull City increased today with the news that former Scotland boss George Burley has been announced as the manager of Crystal Palace. Palace were thought to be Hull's main competition in the race to Hart's signature and the odds will certainly have shortened on Hart being named the nest boss at the KC Stadium now that Palace are out of the running.

Hull City News: Wolves Enter Race To Sign Mouyokolo
Wolves are planning to scupper Stoke's bid and bring Mouyokolo to Molineux according to www.mirrorfootball.co.uk. Stoke are planning a £3.75 million bid that will also involve Ibrahima Sonko returning to the KC Stadium. Hull City News: Paul Hart Could Be New Manager By Weekend
Paul Hart looks favourite to become the next manager of Hull City according to mirrorfootball.co.uk. Hull's other reported target; Dave Jones seems to be out of the running after it emerged that Hull are unable to pay the £750,000 needed to buy out his contract at Cardiff City. Hull spoke to Hart last week and he was reported to be interested in taking over at the KC Stadium. Hull will face stiff competition to get their man however, as Notts County and Crystal Palace (Who Hart kept up on the last day of the season) are reportedly after Hart as well. Do you think Hart is the best man to lead Hull forward? Leave a comment and let us know what you think!
Hull City Heroes #1: Stuart Elliott
Hull City Heroes is a feature we will be running where we pay tribute to some of Hull City's star players, both past and present. First up is Stuart Elliott. Elliott apent 5 1/2 seasons at Hull and helped them to back to back promotions to The Championship. In total Elliott scored 65 goals in 193 appearances in the black and amber. Elliott scored 27 of these during the promotion season to The Championship which earned him the Golden Boot (albeit shared with fellow Hull legend Dean Windass!). This goal scoring feat was made even more amazing by the fact that Elliott missed 6 weeks of that season through injury. He found himself in and out of the team the following season but still managed to finish as Hull's top scorer with 7 goals. In 2006 it was revealed that he was suffering from a form of exercise induced asthma, which affects his ability to perform for the full ninety minutes. He was used as an impact player that season but still managed to score some important goals including an amazing brace against QPR in the dying minutes to give Hull a 2-1 victory. Elliott left Hull in January 2008 and currently is on the books of Hamilton Academical. Although Elliott never got to play for Hull in the Premier League they certainly wouldn't have managed it at all if he hadn't helped them get within touching distance. Here is a clip of Elliott in action with thanks going out to BoothferryLegend35 for the vid:

Hull City News: Garcia Happy At Hull
Hull's only player invloved in the World Cup; Richard Garcia has stated that he is happy to remain at Hull for as long as the club needs him. There has been talk recently linking him with a move to Coventry City but Garcia was quick to dispell these rumours:
"I've seen the stories but as far as I'm concerned, there's nothing in it," he told the Hull Daily Mail.
"I've never been spoken to by anyone and for me, I'm still at Hull City until the club no longer need my services.
"I'm still happy to be a Hull City player. I've had my ups and downs with the club.
"They've always done the right thing by me and I'd like to think I've always done the right thing by them as well.
"Until I hear anything different, I'll still be a Hull City player next season."
With Australia struggling in South Africa the last thing Garcia needs is to be bothered with transfer speculation
WCW (World Cup Watch)
WCW aka World Cup Watch is a feature we will be running for the duration of Australia's involvement in the World Cup in South Africa. Why Australia you ask? Well, Richard Garcia is flying the flag for the tigers down in South Africa and is the only Hull City player to make the final cut for the tournament.
Australia's opening match was against Germany and while Garcia made tigers history by becoming the first ever Hull City player (Current Player) to make an appearance at a World Cup Finals, it didn't go to well for them. Germany ran out extremely convincing 4-0 winners. Garcia was probalby Australia's best player having a header well blocked by Phillip Lahm inside 4 minutes but he only lasted 63 minutes as he was replaced for tactical reasons due to Tim Cahill's red card. Garcia will hope to be involved in Australia's final 2 group matches against Ghana and Serbia and we will bring you news on both those games!

Bust to Boom: Hull City AFC - From the Brink of Extinction to the Premier League
My girlfriend bought me this book recently (A poor attempt to get me to watch less football!) and I have to say it was a brilliant read! John Fieldhouse gives a really detailed account of Hull's rapid rise from virtual extinction to the promised land of the Premier League! With Father's Day coming up this would make the perfect gift for any Hull City Dad! As part of the site I'll also reccommend any other Hull City related books, DVD's etc. that I find to be interesting!
